The Godfather

Last night I watched The Godfather for my first time. I thought it was very good. Although some parts were a little confusing, it was still very enjoyable. This movie is definitely a classic intense drama that has influenced many other films and TV shows. It certainly deserves much of the praise it has gotten for being a great movie. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys thrilling dramas.

You will (probably) only like this movie if:

you enjoy dramas, and you don't mind some violence/blood

The Dark Knight

I just got back from seeing The Dark Knight in theaters. Since there was a lot of hype about this movie, I definitely had high expectations when I walked into the theater. Overall, I thought it was really good. Although I think it is a bit overrated, I enjoyed the whole movie. The acting and the special effects were fantastic. The main thing that bothered me was that most parts of the movie were pretty predictable. I felt like I'd seen some of the scenes before. And although Heath Ledger had a superb performance, I don't think he was the best disturbing psychotic villain I've ever seen. The reason why is probably because the Joker's childhood or background is never really revealed. (In my opinion, the title of best movie psychopath belongs to Hannibal Lecter). Nevertheless, The Dark Knight is one of the best movies of 2008 so far, and I would recommend it to pretty much anyone.

Mamma Mia!

Today I saw Mamma Mia in theaters. I didn't have very high expectations for the movie and I ended up thinking it was just okay. Overall the movie was pretty fun and funny. It had some fun scenes and songs but some parts were a little weird. It was a definitely a very silly movie. I would only recommend it to people who enjoy musicals and who don't mind movies that can be a little strange.

you enjoy musicals, you enjoy silly movies, and you don't mind movies that have some strange parts
